About Me

Hey everyone, I'm Michelle!

I fell in love with baking and cake decorating the way that most people do- by eating lots of it. I can't lie to you and say that I knew I was meant for the food industry ever since I was a baby, but there were signs. Take for example, my favourite part of the job when I was an event producer- picking menus and going to tastings, or my favourite part of working on cruise ships- going ashore and locating the best desserts worldwide (guys I've had authentic Key West key lime pie, Lisboa pastéis de nata, Maltese Qaghaq Ta' l-Ghasel, you freaking name it). If that doesn't make someone want to try and bake something just to recreate a moment in their life, I don't know what will.

Most people credit Cake Boss as a source of their passion and I'd have to agree. You see, I've always been into art. Always. Throw something at me and I will draw it, paint it, sculpt it, wood burn it- you name it. But back in high school, when I was choosing a path- 'fine art' as a career was frowned upon. The 'starving artist' stigma. And then Buddy Valastro taught us you could make edible art- and that THAT could be a real business.

So fast forward my degrees in sociology/criminology, public relations and communications and you've got me once more graduating with a Baking Arts (Cake Decorating stream) post grad certificate at George Brown College in Toronto (so yes ya'll, I AM partially trained).

THEN I got lucky enough to work with big established baking brands like How to Cake It and Sweetapolita!

And now? Now I just wanna film cool tutorials and work with you (read: only if you're awesome and can keep up with my awesome),
